Nutraceuticals

This webinar is presented by Nutraceuticals world.

Traditional microbial testing methods for Nutraceuticals can be labor intensive and time to results can take as long as 5-7 days. In this webinar, you will learn how Herbalife Nutrition partnered with bioMérieux to develop an innovative solution to combat those challenges.

The new multiplex pathogen detection assay NUTRAPLEX PRO, offers simultaneous, qualitative detection of E. coli, S. aureus, and Salmonella spp. by utilizing a 24-hour, universal enrichment scheme and an easy workflow (less than 10 minutes of hands-on time) that is consistent across all Nutraceutical matrices.

During this webinar, you will hear from Chris Thompson, Analytical Scientist at Herbalife Nutrition, and Ben Pascal, CBO at Invisible Sentinel, as they discuss the development of this solution and the benefits that Herbalife Nutrition has already seen by implanting it across their various sites:

  • Reduced testing costs by 50% within the first two months
  • Reduced plastic waste by 1 metric ton/year
  • Reduced technician labor time by +50%
  • Reduced their false positivity rate by 50%

PRESENTERS

Analytical Scientist, Herbalife

Christopher Thompson

Christopher Thompson is a Scientist at Herbalife Nutrition in Southern California. His microbiology experience covers a wide range of food, dietary supplement, and environmental testing, method development, and validation in ISO and FDA governed laboratories. His focus of study is using molecular mechanisms for pathogen detection and quality indicator quantitation in food, dietary supplement, and environmental matrices. He has developed independently published mutliplex PCR methods for identification of botanicals, food protein sources, probiotics, and pathogens. He has driven the transition from conventional microbiological methods to molecular, small-format methods in a variety of food, dietary supplement, and environmental pathogen requirements. Chris has a BS in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from California State University, Fullerton, and is an IFT Certified Food Scientist.
