ASP Expert Panel for World Antimicrobial Awareness Week

Three experts present different insights that all intersect with antimicrobial stewardship based on their professional experiences.  Pharmacist Katherine Perez identifies the challenges stewards have faced during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and encourages recalibrating stewardship strategies to account for the shifting landscape.

Next, Professor Douglas Call presents his research on leveraging colonization as a tool to track new antimicrobial resistant (AMR) phenotypes and genotypes in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).

To wrap up the panel, critical care physician Tufik Ramzi Assad shares how syndromic testing benefitted his ICU practice and the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP).
