Viewpoints Series: Neonatal Sepsis and Group B Strep

July is Group B Streptococcus (GBS) awareness month. GBS infections are a leading cause of neonatal sepsis and meningitis, and the impact of neonatal sepsis is increasing due to growing levels of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). In this article, Toni Rodriguez, RN, discusses recent findings and recommendations from both US and global health entities for the prevention and care of GBS-associated sepsis with consideration of today’s AMR landscape.
