In support of our commitment to public health, we are actively accelerating our Ebola response efforts on the ground. BioFire Defense, a bioMérieux company, has increased production of Ebola-family panels by 635% to help meet the needs of partners responding to the current outbreak.

bioMérieux has delivered seven BIOFIRE® TORCH 2 instruments and 480 tests to Africa, with additional instruments and thousands of tests in transit and expected to arrive in the coming days. Deployed across 10 laboratories, these shipments will support the diagnosis of approximately 1,600 patients, with additional deliveries planned.

Our teams are working in close partnership with the Ministries of Health in Rwanda and Uganda, as well as the Institut National de Recherche Biomédicale (INRB) in support of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), to ensure these solutions reach the communities where they are needed most. On-site training is being provided to local laboratory professionals to support quality use and long-term capability building.

Through these efforts, we are expanding diagnostic capacity, strengthening laboratory capabilities, and enabling earlier detection—critical to supporting local health authorities in effectively containing and managing the outbreak.
