Territorial development
Our territorial development strategy is built to respond to local employment needs, skills levels, and economic and social dynamics.
That is why we also maintain close ties with schools and universities. These ties enable us to attract graduates and scientists who have the skills and expertise needed to keep pace with developments in our career paths. However, the objective goes beyond recruitment: these partnerships also promote mutual engagement and mutual understanding, and enrich both corporate and academic practices.
- Durham, North Carolina
bioMérieux collaborates with local colleges and leading universities including the University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University, Duke University, and Wake Technical Community College. We also have strong ties with North Carolina State University’s Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC). Our Durham site offers highly successful STEM and life sciences internship programs and attracts strong student interest. - Saint Louis, Missouri
At our Saint Louis site, we actively engage with universities such as Washington University, St. Louis University, Mizzou, Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, and others to identify engineering students for our robust co-op program. Students participate in both spring and fall co-ops, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment. - Salt Lake City, Utah
In Salt Lake City, we collaborate with several universities including the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Weber State University, Utah State University, Utah Valley University, and Salt Lake Community College. We also partner with and support BioHive student chapters at several of these schools, helping students in STEM academia through facility tours, networking opportunities, and career support—bridging the gap between academia and the life sciences industry. - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
In Philadelphia, we partner with Drexel University to secure a set number of internships each year, providing students with hands-on experience in biotechnology and life sciences.

- Since 2014, bioMérieux has been a founding member of the Fondation Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) which supports top-notch research and training projects and promotes equal opportunity. In 2024, we renewed our commitment for 5 more years. Since 2015, bioMérieux has also participated in the “Health 4 Life” Master’s Excellence program at the UGA by funding international studies scholarships for top students in the field.
- A member of the Founder’s Circle, in 2025, bioMérieux renewed its philanthropic agreement with the Fondation INSA Lyon (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) for another 5 years. Our partnership promotes student progression through a scholarship program, developing the bioscience and IT education departments and supporting the Foundation's human-centered educational program for engineers.
- In 2020, we have signed a philanthropic agreement with Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) for 3 years, renewed in 2024. This partnership aims to encourage and promote basic and applied research on emerging issues in the field of health economics. This research focuses on the following two themes:
