Overview

 

  • Reference method.

  • ALOA® One Day SHORT PROTOCOL can be read within 18h incubation.

  • Listeria grow as blue‑green regular round colonies. ​

  • L. monocytogenes show an opaque halo​.

  • ALOA® One Day and ALOA® Count are NF validated.

  • Confirmation for validated methods VIDAS® LIS, VIDAS® LMO, GENE-UP® LIS, GENE-UP® LMO​.

Intended Use 

 
  • ALOA® (Agar Listeria according to Ottaviani & Agosti) is a selective medium used for the detection and enumeration of Listeria monocytogenes and other Listeria spp in foodstuffs and environmental samples.
 
  • Two methods are NF VALIDATION certified: ALOA® One Day and ALOA® Count (refer to enclosed protocols). This medium is also used to carry out detection and enumeration of L. monocytogenes in foodstuffs and animal feeding stuffs in the framework of ISO 11290 standard protocols. ​
