Preserving the planet to protect health: our commitments and progress

Fully aware of today’s climate and environmental challenges, we are taking action to reduce the footprint of our activities, optimize the use of resources, and design increasingly responsible solutions. Since 2019, we have been committed to an ambitious environmental trajectory. Here is an overview of the concrete, measurable, and sustainable actions implemented by our teams around the world.
Climate, resources, eco-design: structured priorities for 2019–2025
Our CSR roadmap is built around three complementary pillars, guiding our industrial, logistical, and technological decisions worldwide:
- Fighting climate change, through the progressive and measurable reduction of our greenhouse gas emissions across all our operations and value chain, with a target of –50% emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030 compared to 2019.
- Preserving resources, by controlling our water and energy consumption and reducing waste generation, with targets of –45% water consumption, –50% energy use, and –50% waste generation*.
- Eco-design, aimed at minimizing the environmental impact of our products at every stage of their lifecycle, from manufacturing to end-of-use.
* Per €M of revenue, in 2025 vs. 2015.
By the end of 2025, these targets have been achieved—and in some areas, exceeded—particularly in terms of energy efficiency and resource consumption reduction.
These results place us on a strong trajectory to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and beyond. This momentum is also driven by the commitment of our partners, who are fully engaged alongside us, notably through CSR training programs and the growing involvement of our suppliers in this approach.
Concrete actions driven by our teams worldwide
Our commitments come to life through the daily efforts of our teams at each of our sites. Implemented between 2019 and 2025, these initiatives illustrate the wide range of levers activated to support the energy transition, preserve resources, and reduce our environmental footprint.

Beyond 2025: accelerating the transition
Building on these achievements, we have set even more ambitious environmental targets to further accelerate the reduction of our ecological footprint and sustainably support the transformation of our activities:
- reducing the use of virgin plastic across both our operations and our instruments,
- lowering the energy consumption of our instruments,
- integrating all emissions across our upstream and downstream value chain, including Scope 3 (purchasing, transport, logistics, etc.).
Our ambition is clear: to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. Every step we take today brings us closer to this goal.
