  • Colonies may appear in two forms: ◦ characteristic appearance: black, shiny, convex colonies surrounded by a clear zone and sometimes an opaque border on the peripheral zone. ◦ non‑characteristic appearance: identical in appearance but not surrounded by a clear zone.
  • This medium complies with the standard EN ISO 6888‑1.1, 2

  • This medium is recommended for the enumeration and confirmation of coagulase positive Staphylococcus from food.
