2022: a fruitful year of CSR achievements
Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach is aligned with our Company’s long-term vision, always in the service of public health. This translates in everything we do: responsibility towards our team members, our patients, the communities around us and our external stakeholders
At bioMérieux, we are committed to play our part and as every gesture counts to change the game, we have implemented a number of concrete actions in line with our CSR objectives.
In 2022, our efforts have paid off and allowed us to reach important milestones in the deployment of our CSR strategy, all in the aim to increase our positive impact.
This would not have been possible without the strong mobilization of our teams across the sites and countries where we are present.
Check out a few of our numerous achievements in 2022
We deployed The Climate Fresk to make our teams aware of climate change and its consequences. These collaborative workshops embarked various functions within the Company, starting with the Executive Committee. Volunteers were trained to facilitate sessions in their countries, allowing a sustainable climate awareness to infuse among all team members.
Producing our own green electricity on site is one of our main priorities for decarbonization. To reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, we have increased the installation of photovoltaic panels on our sites, allowing to cover up to 20% of site consumption.
We are continually working to reduce the use of air transport and to give priority to maritime transport when shipping our products to their final destination.
We use the EcoVadis rating for the evaluation of our CSR performance. For the third consecutive year, we are in the Top 1% thanks to our Platinum medal.
Created in 2020, the bioMérieux Endowment Fund's mission is to promote equal opportunities in the countries where we operate, with the ambition of reducing inequalities through and within education so that everyone can find their place in the world. Our team members worldwide are strongly engaged in the projects supported by the Fund and have the possibility to give time in volunteering actions.
